The BBC is reporting about industry backing for a tool to battle spam

It’s called DomainKeys Identified Mail and works by using digital signatures.

Nice idea in practise but first thing that sprang to mind was

“What happened to Sender ID & SPF?”

There is a page on the site that shows who is backing the standard and you’ll notice there is no Microsoft or Google on the list.

Will this be an idea that comes to the fore? or will it just fall away and everyone will forget about it in six months?
