(Error code: 0xE000003D)<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/andyparkes.co.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/06\/image2.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"background-image: none; border-bottom: 0px; border-left: 0px; margin: 7px 12px 7px 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; display: inline; border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px\" title=\"image\" border=\"0\" alt=\"image\" src=\"https:\/\/andyparkes.co.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/06\/image_thumb2.png\" width=\"563\" height=\"125\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Looking closer it\u2019s specific parts of the note book that have the problem. They are easy enough to spot. The tab goes a white colour and you get the ever so helpful message. <\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>\u201cAn unknown error occurred while opening this section\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/andyparkes.co.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/06\/image3.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"background-image: none; border-bottom: 0px; border-left: 0px; margin: 7px 12px 7px 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; display: inline; border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px\" title=\"image\" border=\"0\" alt=\"image\" src=\"https:\/\/andyparkes.co.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/06\/image_thumb3.png\" width=\"569\" height=\"230\" \/><\/a>&#160;<\/p>\n<p>A common suggestion with OneNote sync problems is to clear the local cache and download the whole thing again. You do this by starting OneNote in safe mode and press the \u201cclear cache\u201d button.<\/p>\n<p><strong>OneNote.exe \/safeboot<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/andyparkes.co.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/06\/image4.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"background-image: none; border-bottom: 0px; border-left: 0px; margin: 7px auto; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; display: block; float: none; border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px\" title=\"image\" border=\"0\" alt=\"image\" src=\"https:\/\/andyparkes.co.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/06\/image_thumb4.png\" width=\"425\" height=\"353\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>&#160;<\/p>\n<p>I wasn\u2019t expecting this to work however as I\u2019m getting the same problem on my laptop and my desktop machines so I the problem seems to be with the note book itself.<\/p>\n<p>To fix the problem here\u2019s what I did.<\/p>\n<p><em>I opened the Web version of the OneNote. The section that was having the problem opened just fine here. <\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Then I created a new section.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Then I drag and dropped each page from the old section to the new section.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>I then deleted the now empty damaged section and renamed the new section. <\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Once all this had been done the changes sync\u2019d down to my devices and all is good.<\/em> <\/p>\n<p>I\u2019m not entirely sure what caused the problem in the first place. I had opened the note book in OneNote 2013 at some point so maybe I\u2019d caused a problem there but that\u2019s just a guess.
